At the end of every session, we provide you with the opportunity to meet your child’s tutor and engage in a discussion about their strengths and areas for improvement. During this valuable conversation, we will devise a plan to address the identified weaknesses and nurture them into strengths.
In addition to weekly feedback, we conduct several progress tests throughout the year to gauge the development of your child’s learning.
We arrange parent-teacher meetings after each test because we know it is important to keep you as parents informed.
These meetings provide an opportunity to have a more in-depth discussion in regards to your child’s overall progress in relation to passing their 11 plus exam.
Is your child stuck in the routine of just completing and marking worksheets in other tuition centres? Does your child feel lost and confused because your current tutors are not explaining things?
At Broad Horizon we do things differently!
Simply completing worksheets and reading out answers is not our approach! Our tutors take great care in going through and explaining all of your child’s mistakes, so your child can learn how to improve throughout their 11+ journey at Broad Horizon Tuition.
Worth over £800
We understand that sometimes a different explanation is all a child needs to fully grasp a topic, and at Broad Horizon, we’re able to provide that extra support.
For Year 5:
As an added bonus, we provide our Year 5 pupils Free Extra Lessons on a weekly basis, designed specifically to support them during the crucial last 10 months leading up to their 11+ exam.
We cover all the topics from Year 4, as well as extra Year 5 content. The value of these Free Extra Lessons would be over £800 if paid for!
These sessions provide the students at Broad Horizon with the opportunity to revise essential topics and catch up on any missed learning from Year 4 if your child was not with us, making this an invaluable opportunity prior to the grammar school entrance exam.
This opportunity provides our students with a significant advantage that you would not want your child to miss out on.
With a maximum of 9 to 12 pupils in each class, we ensure that every child receives the necessary help and personalised attention they require to thrive academically.
Your child’s learning journey is our utmost priority, and we are committed to providing them with the care and attention they deserve.
Can’t make it to one of our classroom lessons? or have a prior engagement?
Worry not, as we offer the flexibility of online classes to accommodate your needs, this is is to ensure your child’s 11 plus journey can continue without interruption.
Your child will receive homework on a weekly basis, including extra 11+ practice questions, vocabulary to learn and reading. All homework is marked and monitored by our tutors in the following lesson.
Your child will complete more than 30 GL Mock Exams throughout their 11+ journey at Broad Horizon Tuition.
Our GL Mock Exams are run strictly according to realistic exam conditions, providing your child with the confidence to face the real exam.
At Broad Horizon, our lessons are carefully structured to ensure effective learning and maximum value. Each session begins with 45 minutes dedicated to reviewing homework, where tutors address mistakes and resolve any misconceptions.
This is followed by the teaching of a new concept, with clear explanations and practice questions. Tutors then individually review each mistake, offering page-by-page feedback across all 11 plus subjects.
Unlike many tuition providers, we prioritise teaching throughout the full lesson — not just marking. Our tutors are committed to demonstrating techniques that genuinely support your child’s learning and progress.

My daughter has just been offered a place in QM. I’m so proud and thankful to Broad Horizon for being very supportive throughout.
I would highly recommend this tuition centre. Thank you Broad Horizon for the extra free sessions to support my daughter to achieve her target. Wish you all the best.
Mrs Saima
Parent
My son has only been going for a few weeks and already I can see a big improvement in his mathematical and English skills. The tutor himself is very professional and my son has learned a lot from him in a short time. I highly recommend Broad Horizon for 11+ tuition. Definitely value for money.
Mr. Ifraz
Parent 2023
Focused small classroom set up and a methodical approach. Revision and learning packs are brilliant. Helps students build confidence and overcome any areas of learning challenges.
Mr. Romel Ahmed
Parent
Very honest, hard working with the kids and was focused with my son, helping him to improve his weaknesses in such a short time. What I found more unique as well, is that he reviews all their wrong answers with them, which is not the case in other tuition’s.
Mrs M.A
Parent
My son had made so much progress last year and we would recommend this tutor to anyone who is looking for 11 plus preparation.
Mrs Ying Ma
Parent
I would recommend with 100% confidence. I have never seen any other tuition centres giving that much support as much as Broad Horizon has given to students.
Mrs Farah Naqvi

My son attended this year, and he achieved a high score in the test. The tutor is very honest and he improved my son’s weaknesses. So I recommend him for everyone.
Mr M.Z

I had my youngest son here last year and he got the highest marks in his school year group for the 11+ test. The tutor is very good.

I just want to say a big thank you to Broad Horizon Tuition for all the hard work you have put in for my daughter’s 11+ journey. Tanisha has passed her Grammar School Entrance Exam with flying colours. I have never known a teacher so patient and supportive. I can’t be more grateful to anyone. Thank you for all the support and thank you again for being a great tutor to my child.

Kasim is a very good and honest tutor. He helped our son Prabhnoor get better and he has improved a lot since joining his classes in a short time. I highly recommend him. Excellent tutor! We really appreciate him, thank you.

Yes, if your child is 7 to 10 years old (Year 3, 4 or 5 in school), and is consistently performing at the top of their year group in school, then it is quite likely a grammar school will be the most suitable secondary school for your child’s higher academic ability.
In Year 6 you will apply for a secondary school for your child.
Grammar schools are also secondary schools, however they are selective secondary schools. Parents are required to apply for an exam to secure a place for their child. This is known as the “11+ exam”.
Grammar schools only offer places to children who achieve the highest scores in the 11 plus exam, this means seats in grammar schools are highly sought-after because they are high achieving schools.
We offer a Free Assessment and based on the results we will provide you with a Free Consultation – during which we can discuss whether the 11 plus is the right route for your child, and if it is then how you can proceed.

Grammar school’s use Verbal and Non-verbal reasoning (as well as Maths and English) to test a child’s academic ability, however these two subjects are not taught in school.
So most parent’s opt to provide tuition for their child in order to prepare and familiarise their child with these subjects.
The tuition will also prepare your child to cope with the 11+ exam conditions, because the format of the exam will be unlike anything your child has experienced previously.
Most parents begin 11 plus tuition in September of Year 4, due to the highly competitive nature of the exam. Since many children start preparing in Year 4, parents often choose to do the same to ensure their child has the best chance of success. This is especially crucial for sandwich generation parents.
However, we do offer classes from Year 3, for those parents looking to enhance their child’s basic Maths and English skills before they join us for the 11 plus course in Year 4.
By the end of Year 3 at Broad Horizon, your child will not only have established robust foundational knowledge but will also have acquired advanced skills that surpass their peers of the same age group.

We enrol students onto our 11 plus course in September of Year 4, which is when our 11 plus course begins. Throughout Year 4, we cover all the individual topics needed for the 11 plus exam, we also introduce our students to exam and timing techniques in Year 4.
Throughout Year 5, we work on applying all the skills our students learnt in Year 4 to exam-style questions. Year 5 is also when we really focus on harnessing different exam techniques which work for your child because we understand different methods suit different students. Year 5 is all about familiarising your child with mock exams so they feel confident and comfortable whilst sitting the real exam!
In May of Year 5, the Walsall and Birmingham Grammar School's start taking applications for your child to sit the exam in September of Year 6.
Near the end of June and start of July of Year 5, this is the deadline for the grammar school entrance exam applications. They do not accept any applications after these deadlines.
In September of Year 6, your child will sit their 11 plus exams.
Around October 16th of Year 6, just a month after sitting the exams, your child will be given their scores. However it is not as simple as a pass or fail. Please contact us for more information on this.
By October 30th of Year 6, you will have to make your secondary school choices to your local council. You must assess your child's results before deciding which schools to choose as your 1st, 2nd and 3rd choices. This process is taken care of by your child's primary school.
By March of Year 6, your child will officially be offered a place at a secondary school by your local council. This is where you officially find out if your child has passed the 11 plus.
Parents choose Broad Horizon for 11 plus tuition because we offer a specialised and structured approach, ensuring expert guidance and a strong focus on student progress.
We prioritise accessibility and ensure that our tutors are available for meetings at the end of each session. This provides you as parents with opportunity to discuss your child’s progress, receive feedback, and identify areas for improvement.
In our small group classes, your child receives the attention they deserve. Our 11 plus tutors go far and beyond merely completing and marking work packs.
We actively teach individual 11 plus concepts, explaining all the material in-depth. This approach aligns with our belief in comprehensive and effective tuition.
Your child’s understanding is our priority.
At Broad Horizon, we have a dedicated management team who focus exclusively on the 11 plus process. We closely monitor each child’s progress, hold regular meetings with teachers, and create personalised improvement plans for every single child, to ensure every child reaches their full potential.
