At Broad Horizon, we provide specialised classes for Year 3 pupils to strengthen their fundamental skills, setting the stage for their future academic success. These classes serve as an excellent stepping stone for students who aspire to join us in September of Year 4 to embark on their 11 plus journey.
By the end of Year 3 at Broad Horizon, your child will not only have established robust foundational knowledge in both Maths and English, but will also have acquired advanced skills that surpass their peers of the same age group.
We prioritise building strong educational foundations and fostering intellectual growth, ensuring that your child excels in their academic pursuits. With out comprehensive approach, your child will be equipped with the tools and expertise needed to thrive and surpass expectations, and to be ready to start their 11 plus journey with confidence.

Class Sizes
The 11 plus classes at Broad Horizon are limited to 9-12 students per class. This limit ensures your child receives maximum attention from our tutors, addressing your child’s individual needs throughout the lesson.
Our Teaching Method
At Broad Horizon, our teaching methods revolve around a comprehensive approach. Our 11 plus tutors first demonstrate and teach the required techniques, followed by practice questions for your child to attempt independently. Subsequently, our tutors thoroughly explains any questions your child found challenging.
We maintain this principled approach to ensure every child is catered for and no one is left behind.
Homework is set on a weekly basis in manageable chunks, to provide additional practice and reinforce the topics covered in class, including vocabulary building.
The following week, our 11 plus tutors meticulously marks and reviews each question your child struggled with, ensuring the leave the lesson with clarity.
We understand the importance of tracking your child’s progress, which is why we incorporate regular revision lessons and progress tests every 6 to 8 weeks. These assessments help us identify your child’s strengths and areas for improvement, allowing us to implement targeted support where needed.
Following each progress test, we hold parent-teacher meetings to discuss your child’s performance in depth and explore strategies to enhance their learning. These sessions provide valuable insight and personalised guidance, ensuring your child stays on the right path towards 11 plus success.
